To see more of my reviews, visit my blog Take Me Away... On the Pages of Your Story I must admit I was a bit skeptical when I first received this.... (I'm not a big fan of vampires anymore because the whole idea of paranormal romance with vampires became a bit played out with me after Twilight.) But the cover was just so beautiful I HAD to give it a chance. One thing I didn't like about it, is the plot is extremely predictable. I knew the twist that was coming as soon as the character involving it was introduced. (Spoiler.... To see it, highlight it!) I also knew some other things as they popped up in the story. It was like reading something I had already read before. I also didn't like Dawn. She was just annoying me. I was rooting for Victor from the beginning and she kept pushing him away. It just annoyed me. What I did like though, was the writing style. I felt like I was catapulted into Dawn's world. And for the details to be so vivid, the world was so dark and my imagination had a field day seeing things from Dawn and her friend's POV. Especially Valentine manor and the first meeting they had. I saw steampunk meets vampires meets dystopia, and it was so intriguing. But overall, the book was a good read. It made my view on vampires more open again and for that I am definitely grateful.
